In a recent statement, BRS working president KT Rama Rao slammed Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi for what he called the Congress party’s hypocrisy regarding the Adani issue. Rama Rao highlighted the contradiction between the treatment of BRS legislators and Congress MPs, especially concerning their attire in legislative assemblies. He pointed out that while Congress MPs were allowed to wear T-shirts featuring an image of Adani and Modi in Parliament, BRS members were restricted from entering the Telangana Assembly wearing similar shirts.
Rama Rao questioned the Congress party’s stance on the matter, asking why it was deemed acceptable for Congress MPs to wear such T-shirts in Parliament while BRS members were prohibited from doing the same in the Telangana Assembly. “What kind of hypocrisy is this? If it is right for you to wear a T-shirt with an Adani-Modi picture in Parliament, why are we not allowed to follow in your footsteps and expose the Adani-Revanth affair in Telangana Assembly?” he asked, addressing Rahul Gandhi directly on X.
The BRS has consistently criticized the alleged connection between Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and industrialist Gautam Adani in Telangana. The party accuses the Congress of engaging in a national-level campaign against the industrialist while simultaneously making deals with him at the state level. This ongoing issue continues to dominate political discourse in Telangana as the BRS questions the Congress’ contradictory positions on Adani.
