Israel has confirmed receiving the body of fallen soldier Hadar Goldin, handed over by Hamas to the Red Cross in Gaza. Goldin was killed during the 2014 conflict, and his remains were reportedly recovered by Hamas from a tunnel in Rafah before being returned. The handover marks a rare exchange amid continuing violence, as Israeli forces intensify attacks across Gaza despite an official ceasefire. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office released a statement acknowledging the return while maintaining that military operations will persist “until national security objectives are achieved.”

On the ground, Israeli artillery and drone strikes continue to hit densely populated areas, including Khan Younis, Jabalia, and Bureij refugee camp — where at least three Palestinians were killed in the latest bombardments. Witnesses say many of the targeted locations lie outside the so-called “yellow line,” a zone designated by Israeli forces to justify lethal strikes. According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, 241 Palestinians have been killed and more than 600 wounded since the ceasefire was declared on October 11. Civil defence teams remain unable to retrieve many victims trapped under rubble, as drones and shelling persist.

Beyond Gaza, the occupation’s aggression continues across the West Bank, where settlers have vandalized Palestinian homes, torched vehicles, and uprooted dozens of olive saplings during the annual harvest season. Verified footage shows Israeli troops demolishing homes in Salfit and Silwan, displacing families under heavy military presence. Meanwhile, human rights groups accuse Israel of blocking independent journalists from entering Gaza to “control the narrative” and conceal ongoing war crimes. With nearly 70,000 Palestinians killed since October 2023 and environmental damage spreading across the Strip, fears are mounting that the fragile truce is on the verge of total collapse.
