Five Family Members Found Dead in Greater Noida, Food Poisoning Suspected

Five members of a family, including three children, were found dead at their home in Nagla Shri Padam village of Greater Noida’s Rabupura area on Saturday morning. The deceased have been identified as Mahesh (37), his wife Lalita (35), their daughter Mishti (7), and sons Laddu (11) and Sakshat (3). Police suspect the deaths may have been caused by food poisoning, as the family had reportedly eaten noodles for dinner the previous night. However, officials have stressed that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after forensic analysis and postmortem examinations are completed.

Soon after the incident was reported, police, forensic experts and officials from the Food Safety Department reached the house to collect food samples and other evidence. An inquest has been initiated, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem. Investigators are examining all possible angles, including whether the food consumed by the family contained any toxic substance or if another factor was responsible for the tragedy. Authorities have appealed to the public not to speculate until the investigation is complete.

The incident has shocked the local community and prompted a swift response from the administration. BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh, who visited the village, said he had informed the Chief Minister’s Office and called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the deaths. He said the loss of an entire family, especially three young children, was deeply heartbreaking and emphasized that every possible cause must be examined before any conclusions are drawn. Officials have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken once the forensic and postmortem reports are received.
