The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a nationwide protest march in New Delhi on September 5, alleging that the Central government has failed to fulfil commitments made after the withdrawal of its 36-day agitation against examination irregularities. The march, scheduled on Teachers’ Day, will begin at India Gate and proceed towards the Delhi Police Headquarters. According to the organisation, the protest will be led by families of students who died by suicide following the NEET examination controversy, along with those who allegedly faced police action during the earlier demonstrations.
CJP leaders said the decision was taken during the party’s National Working Committee meeting after reviewing the government’s progress on promises made on July 25. The outfit claimed that key assurances, including the withdrawal of FIRs against students and protesters, compensation for affected families, and written commitments on examination reforms, have not been implemented. The organisation accused the Centre of delaying action and avoiding clear commitments despite earlier negotiations that led to the end of the nationwide protest.
The organisation has appealed to students, youth groups, and citizens across the country to participate in what it described as a peaceful demonstration. CJP stated that the families of students who lost their lives and those allegedly affected by police action would lead the march to highlight their demands for justice and accountability. The party warned that if the government continues to delay implementing its promises, the September 5 march could mark the beginning of a renewed nationwide movement demanding reforms in the examination system and fulfilment of commitments made to the country’s youth.
