Centre Transfers 8 Telangana IAS, IPS Officers to Andhra Pradesh

The Union government has rejected the request of eight All India Service (AIS) officers to remain in Telangana and directed them to join Andhra Pradesh by October 16. The officers, including five IAS and three IPS officials, were allocated to the Andhra Pradesh cadre following the state’s bifurcation in 2014.

Those transferred include Anjani Kumar, former Director General of Police, now Chairman of the Road Safety Authority, and Amrapali Kata, Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

The Department of Personnel and Training’s decision follows a recommendation by a single-member committee constituted to reconsider the final allocation of AIS officers. The move is part of the re-allocation process following the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh into two separate states in 2014.
