BRS Legislators Protest in Assembly Over Farmers’ Issues in Lagacherla

In a bold move to bring attention to the plight of Lagacherla farmers, BRS legislators wore black dresses and handcuffs as they staged a protest at the Telangana Legislative Assembly. The party filed an adjournment motion demanding a discussion on the forcible acquisition of agricultural lands for industrial development in the state. This motion also called for the urgent release of farmers who had been arrested during the protests. Prominent BRS MLAs such as T Harish Rao, G Jagadish Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, and Gangula Kamalakar submitted the notice to the Speaker for further discussion.

The black dress and handcuff protest symbolized the party’s strong opposition to the imprisonment of the Lagacherla farmers. The BRS lawmakers emphasized the need for justice and the immediate release of the farmers, who were protesting against the government’s move to acquire their lands. The assembly session saw heated exchanges as the legislators demanded that the state government address their concerns and the grievances of the farmers.

The protest highlights the growing tensions surrounding land acquisition policies in Telangana, with BRS legislators pushing for a resolution that favors farmers’ rights and welfare. Their move serves as a significant reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by agricultural communities in the region, and the party’s stance on prioritizing their needs in legislative discussions.
