AAP Finalizes Candidates List for Delhi Assembly Elections, Kejriwal to Contest from New Delhi

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday, December 15, unveiled its final list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, set to take place in February. Party leader Arvind Kejriwal is once again contesting from the New Delhi constituency, while Chief Minister Atishi will represent Kalkaji. Other prominent leaders, including ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain, Raghuvinder Shokeen, and Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat, will contest from Greater Kailash, Babarpur, Ballimaran, Nangloi Jat, and Sultanpur Majra, respectively.

This election marks AAP’s bid for a third consecutive term in Delhi, following its resounding victory in 2020, where it claimed 62 out of 70 seats. With senior leaders retaining their constituencies, AAP aims to reinforce its governance model, which has focused on education, healthcare, and public welfare initiatives. The polls are expected to test the party’s ability to maintain its popularity and address challenges posed by other political contenders, including the BJP and Congress.

The political landscape in Delhi remains dynamic, with voters keenly observing AAP’s progress over the past decade. The party’s commitment to its flagship schemes and local governance will play a pivotal role in securing voter confidence. Meanwhile, the opposition is expected to focus on criticizing AAP’s policies and presenting alternatives to sway the electorate in the highly anticipated elections.
