In a chilling incident that has shocked the Chandrayangutta locality of Hyderabad, a 55-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence in Indira Nagar on Wednesday night. The victim, who worked as a labourer, lived alone in a small room in the area. Around midnight, residents noticed smoke and fire emerging from her home and immediately alerted the local police. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered the woman’s lifeless body with her throat slit. Preliminary investigations suggest that the killer or killers used a sharp weapon and then attempted to destroy evidence by setting the body on fire.
The gruesome nature of the crime has triggered panic and unrest in the neighbourhood. Locals expressed shock over the brutality, stating the woman was known to be quiet and hardworking. Police suspect that the assailants planned the attack carefully, targeting the woman during late hours when the surroundings were less active. The scene was cordoned off, and forensic experts were called in to gather evidence. Meanwhile, the body was shifted to Osmania Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the precise cause and time of death.
A murder case has been formally registered by the police, and one suspect has already been taken into custody for questioning. Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and speaking with neighbours to trace the sequence of events. Though the motive is still unclear, the possibility of personal enmity or attempted robbery is being explored. The Hyderabad police have promised a swift and thorough investigation, assuring the public that justice will be served and safety measures will be intensified in the area.
