The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of conspiring to “eliminate” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after stones were allegedly thrown at his car during campaigning in the New Delhi constituency. At a joint press conference, AAP leaders Atishi and Sanjay Singh claimed that one of the alleged attackers, identified as Rahul alias Shanky, has a criminal history and is “closely associated” with BJP leader Parvesh Verma. They alleged that the BJP, unable to defeat Kejriwal in the upcoming assembly elections, is resorting to intimidation tactics.

Atishi further alleged that the individuals involved in the attack have serious charges like robbery and attempted murder against them. She accused the BJP of orchestrating the incident to derail AAP’s campaign. The attack has intensified political tensions as both parties prepare for the February 5 polls. While Verma dismissed the allegations, claiming the incident occurred when Kejriwal’s vehicle hit protesting youths, AAP maintained that the attack was premeditated.

With elections around the corner, the incident has sparked a war of words between the two parties. The AAP is vying for a third consecutive term, while the BJP is aiming to end its 25-year drought in Delhi. The situation remains heated, with both parties using the incident to bolster their narratives. Election results will be announced on February 8.
