The Delhi Chief Minister’s Office has alleged that Lt Governor Vinai Saxena forcibly removed Chief Minister Atishi’s belongings from the official residence at the behest of the BJP. This development has sparked a new face-off between the AAP and the Centre. Atishi had shifted to bungalow number 6 on Flagstaff Road in north Delhi’s Civil Lines on Monday, just days after her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal vacated the premises.
The BJP has countered the AAP’s claims, stating that the bungalow is yet to be handed over to the Public Works Department (PwD) for fresh allocation. The Lt Governor’s office has not yet reacted to the allegations. The AAP has termed the eviction as “unprecedented” and a first in the country’s history.
[news_related_post]The controversy surrounding Atishi’s eviction comes amidst other significant developments in Indian politics. The Congress party is facing a bypoll snub from the Samajwadi Party after the Haryana poll shock. Additionally, IAS officer Tina Dabi has raided a spa centre in Rajasthan on suspicion of a sex racket. India’s richest woman, Savitri Jindal, and two independent MLAs have also pledged their support to the BJP in Haryana.
