A car plunged into a pond at the Shivaganga Temple in Maheshwaram on the night of October 18 after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. According to police, the Innova Crysta hit a roadside railing before entering the pond and became completely submerged. The driver, identified as Venkat, managed to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.

The incident occurred around midnight after the Bathukamma celebrations had concluded at the temple. Police said the driver is believed to have fallen asleep while taking a left turn, causing the vehicle to veer off the road. Witnesses noted that the outcome could have been far more serious if the accident had taken place while large crowds were present during the festivities.

A crane was later brought in to recover the submerged vehicle from the pond. Maheshwaram police confirmed that no criminal case has been registered in connection with the incident. A video of the car submerged in the temple pond has been circulating on social media, drawing attention to the accident.
