Four Dead, Five Critically Injured in Devastating Two-Car Collision in Karnataka

A tragic head-on collision between two cars claimed the lives of four people, including a three-year-old girl, and left five others seriously injured near Godekere Gate in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district on Friday night. According to police, the accident occurred in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk when a Kia car travelling from Turuvekere collided head-on with a Volkswagen coming from the opposite direction. The force of the impact completely wrecked both vehicles, turning the busy stretch into the scene of a major road tragedy.

The deceased have been identified as Anil (32) and Vivek (31), both residents of Chikkanayakanahalli, along with Davud Pasha and his three-year-old daughter, Anaam, from Turuvekere. Five other occupants sustained severe injuries in the crash and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding their medical condition, while families of the victims continue to mourn the devastating loss.

The accident temporarily disrupted traffic around Godekere Gate as police and emergency teams rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations and clear the damaged vehicles from the road. A case has been registered at the Chikkanayakanahalli Police Station, and investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the fatal collision. Officials are expected to determine whether factors such as speeding, driver error, or road conditions contributed to one of the deadliest crashes reported in the region in recent days.
