Cyberabad Police issue traffic advisory as heavy rains expected

The Cyberabad Police on Tuesday issued a weather alert and traffic advisory after forecasts predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across the region during the evening hours. To reduce congestion and improve public safety, police appealed to IT companies, educational institutions and other organisations to allow staggered early departures for employees and students, recommending that logouts begin from around 3:30 pm. The advisory aims to minimise traffic bottlenecks and reduce the risk of weather-related disruptions during peak travel hours.

Police said the expected rainfall could significantly impact traffic movement on major roads and key junctions across the Cyberabad Commissionerate. By encouraging offices and institutions to release people in phases rather than all at once, authorities hope to ease pressure on the road network and ensure smoother movement for commuters as well as emergency response vehicles. Officials also advised the public to plan their travel in advance, remain cautious while driving and avoid unnecessary journeys during periods of intense rainfall.

The advisory comes as Hyderabad continues to experience monsoon activity, with intermittent showers affecting traffic and daily life in several parts of the city. Cyberabad Police said they are closely monitoring weather conditions and traffic flow and will deploy personnel wherever required to regulate movement. Residents have been urged to follow official traffic updates, cooperate with police instructions and prioritise safety until weather conditions improve.
