Hyderabad Youth Killed in Suspected Ambush During Pizza Delivery in US

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old man from Hyderabad, identified as Anshul Kuncha, was allegedly shot dead in Philadelphia, United States, while carrying out a pizza delivery assignment on June 5. Anshul had been living in the US for nearly four years after moving there for higher education and was employed at a multinational company in North Philadelphia. According to family members, he also worked part-time as a pizza delivery driver on weekends. The tragic incident came to light after authorities and acquaintances informed the family about the shooting.

Speaking to the media, Anshul’s family alleged that he may have been lured to a deserted location through a fake delivery order. His sister stated that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and claimed the address provided for the delivery later turned out to be a vacant apartment. Family members believe the delivery request was a deliberate trap and have questioned the motive behind the killing, especially since no personal belongings were reported missing. Reports indicate that two masked individuals were seen near the location and are suspected to be involved in the incident.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, preliminary investigations suggest Anshul had successfully delivered the pizzas before being shot outside the apartment building. Investigators recovered spent shell casings near the scene and found pizza boxes along with a delivery bag inside the vacant unit. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the victim carrying pizza boxes while being followed by two individuals dressed in dark clothing. Police are examining the footage for crucial leads, while the family has appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs for assistance in bringing Anshul’s mortal remains back to India and ensuring a thorough investigation into the case.
