Indian Tailor Killed in Kuwait Airport Attack While Returning Home for Family Wedding

Manzoor Ahmed, a 55-year-old Indian tailor from Madhya Pradesh, was killed in an attack on Kuwait International Airport while preparing to return home after nearly three decades of working abroad. Ahmed had been employed in Kuwait for around 30 years and was looking forward to attending his nephew’s wedding scheduled for June 8. His family had eagerly awaited his arrival and planned to welcome him at the railway station with garlands.

According to family members, Ahmed was due to board a flight to Mumbai on Wednesday morning before continuing his journey to his hometown in Ujjain district. His son, Anas Ahmed, said he had spoken with his father the day before the attack, unaware it would be their final conversation. Later that day, the family received a call from the Indian Embassy informing them that Ahmed had been killed in the airport strike, turning what was meant to be a joyful family reunion into a tragedy.

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait is coordinating with local authorities to arrange the swift repatriation of Ahmed’s remains. Kuwaiti officials confirmed that the airport attack resulted in the death of one Indian national and injuries to several others. Ahmed is survived by his wife, son, two daughters, and elderly mother. His body is expected to arrive in India via Ahmedabad before being transported to Ujjain, where his final rites will be performed.
