15 Injured as TGSRTC Bus Crashes into Tractor on Rajiv Rahadari in Karimnagar

A major road accident occurred early Tuesday morning, November 4, on the Rajiv Rahadari near Renikunta Bridge in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district. According to police, a TGSRTC bus travelling from Hyderabad to Metpalli crashed into a tractor carrying a paddy load from behind, resulting in serious injuries to around 15 passengers and the tractor driver. The injured were rescued by local authorities and rushed to the Karimnagar Government Hospital for immediate medical treatment. The collision reportedly took place around 5 a.m., with rescue teams and police arriving quickly to clear the wreckage and assist the victims.

Officials confirmed that the tractor was moving slowly on the highway when the high-speed bus failed to brake in time, causing a severe impact. The accident occurred just a day after the Chevella tragedy, in which a gravel-laden tipper lorry collided head-on with a government bus, killing 19 people. The back-to-back incidents have sparked concern over the rising number of road accidents involving TGSRTC vehicles across Telangana. Authorities are investigating whether driver fatigue or mechanical failure was a factor in the latest crash.

Following the incident, Union Minister and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed concern on social media platform X. He described the accident as tragic and said he had spoken with District Collector Pramela Satpathy, hospital doctors, and police officials to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care, including transfers to Hyderabad if necessary. Bandi Sanjay called for the state government to prioritize road safety, emphasizing the need for awareness campaigns and stricter enforcement to prevent such recurring accidents.
