Work From Home Advised Amid Heavy Rains in Hyderabad

In light of intense and persistent rainfall across Hyderabad’s IT corridors, the Cyberabad Police have issued an advisory recommending companies to implement Work-from-Home (WFH) measures on Tuesday, July 22. This move, led by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), aims to prioritize public safety, minimize traffic congestion, and ensure uninterrupted access to emergency services during inclement weather. The rainfall has significantly impacted the city’s infrastructure, leading to widespread waterlogging and delays.

The advisory comes as part of a proactive strategy to keep both employees and essential services safe from weather-related disruptions. By reducing the number of vehicles on already congested and flooded roads, the city administration hopes to avoid gridlocks and allow emergency response units to function without obstruction. IT and corporate firms in the Cyberabad zone have been asked to support the initiative and enable remote operations where feasible.

Commuters have also been advised to avoid non-essential travel as part of safety measures. Meanwhile, police presence has been heightened in vulnerable and flood-prone areas. Patrol teams have been deployed to monitor road safety, redirect traffic if required, and provide on-the-spot assistance. The city administration has urged citizens to stay updated through official channels and adhere to advisories during the heavy rain period.
