In anticipation of large-scale religious processions on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi on April 12, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued an advisory detailing several traffic restrictions and diversions across the city. Two major processions are expected to draw thousands of devotees: one starting from Gowliguda Ram Mandir to Hanuman Mandir in Tadbund, Secunderabad, and another from Karmanghat Hanuman Temple to Koti. The main procession, stretching over a 12-kilometer route, will commence at 11 AM and is expected to conclude by 8 PM, passing through several key junctions in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The route for the primary procession includes major landmarks and thoroughfares such as Putlibowli, Koti, Sultan Bazar, Narayanguda, RTC X Roads, Ashok Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Kavadiguda, Bible House, Paradise, and finally culminating at Tadbund Hanuman Temple. Traffic along these areas will be intermittently stopped or diverted throughout the day to accommodate the procession’s movement. Commuters are advised to avoid these stretches and plan alternate routes to minimize inconvenience. Authorities will monitor and manage traffic flow using both field personnel and surveillance cameras installed along the route.
In addition to the main procession route, several surrounding areas including DMRL Junction, Saidabad, Moosarambagh, and Dilshuknagar will also witness traffic regulation due to their connection with the larger movement of devotees. The Hyderabad Traffic Police have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel, follow the diversion signs, and avoid non-essential travel near the designated zones. With the festival drawing large gatherings and vibrant cultural displays, the traffic department is focusing on ensuring public safety and smooth conduct of religious festivities without major disruption to the city’s mobility.
