In a significant development for Hyderabad’s tech landscape, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has unveiled plans to establish a major Information Technology Knowledge Hub in Puppalaguda. Spanning 450 acres, the upcoming IT hub is designed to enhance the city’s infrastructure and provide employment opportunities to nearly 5 lakh young professionals. The announcement was made during a high-level cabinet meeting on April 17, where ministers discussed its strategic importance for Telangana’s digital future.
The proposed land for the IT hub includes plots previously allocated to MLAs, MPs, IAS officers, and various government-affiliated societies. However, the Supreme Court recently cancelled around 200 acres of such allocations. To offset this, the government will integrate an additional 250 acres of land under the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) to the Puppalaguda site, ensuring the project’s momentum and scope are not compromised.
Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted the transformative potential of this initiative, noting its capacity to significantly uplift the local economy by attracting major IT firms and driving job creation. With this move, Telangana reiterates its commitment to becoming a national leader in technology, innovation, and youth empowerment.
