Coimbatore: A head constable from Kavundampalayam police station in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, has sparked outrage after a video surfaced of him slapping a pedestrian, Mohanraj, who was crossing the road while engrossed in his phone. The incident, which occurred on Nallampalayam-Sanganoor Road, was caught on CCTV and has since gone viral, drawing widespread criticism. Mohanraj, a private employee from Chinnavedampatti, stopped in his tracks upon noticing the helmetless officer, Jayaprakash, approaching on a bike. However, to everyone’s shock, the constable slapped him before continuing to drive away.
