A tragic road accident claimed three lives and left 10 others injured after a speeding lorry rammed into a stationary Bolero near Jaipur village in Mancherial district during the early hours of Monday, December 22. The impact was severe, killing one person on the spot and causing panic at the scene as fellow passengers rushed to help the injured.
Police said the lorry was transporting over 20 daily wage labourers from Maharashtra to Sultanpur village in Karimnagar district. At Indaram X-road, the Bolero had been parked on the roadside after its driver stopped briefly to attend nature’s call, when the lorry, allegedly driven at high speed, crashed into it from behind.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two women later succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll to three. The lorry driver, identified as Ramesh, has been arrested and booked under Sections 106 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death by rash and negligent driving. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
