Hyderabad Cyber Fraud Case: A retired Hyderabad resident lost Rs. 13.26 crore to cybercriminals after responding to a WhatsApp message offering stock trading tips. The scammers impersonated representatives of reputable companies, including AFSL, Upstox, and International Brokers, convincing the victim to invest through fake links. Initially, small profits were shown to build trust, but after a large sum was transferred, the fraudsters stopped responding.

Arrests Made in the Cyber Scam: Following the victim’s complaint, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) arrested three individuals involved in the scam, including a Hyderabad Metro Rail employee. Investigations revealed that the fraudsters used mule accounts and converted stolen funds into cryptocurrency, transferring them to the main suspect, who is still at large.

Ongoing Investigation: This incident follows another scam where a Hyderabad resident lost Rs. 8.6 crore to cyber fraud. The TGCSB continues to probe the case, tracking the funds and identifying other suspects connected to the fraudulent operation.
