Pigeon With Threat Note Triggers Security Alert at Jammu Railway Station

Jammu railway station was placed on high alert after a Border Security Force (BSF) patrol recovered a pigeon carrying a suspicious note at the Indo-Pak border in RS Pura’s Khatmarian area on August 18. The note, tied to the bird’s leg, contained messages in both English and Urdu, including “Kashmir Hamara Hai” (Kashmir is ours), “Waqt Aa Gaya Hai, Aa Jayega” (The time has come, it will come), and a direct threat mentioning a possible “Jammu Station IED Blast.”

Following the discovery, security agencies swung into action, and the Jammu and Kashmir police were immediately alerted. Authorities intensified security measures around Jammu railway station, deploying additional forces and increasing surveillance to prevent any untoward incident. The authorities are treating the matter seriously, given the sensitive nature of the threat and the history of similar incidents in the region.

Officials have assured that they are investigating the incident from all angles to rule out any possibility of danger. “We are probing all possibilities to ensure there is no threat. Extra vigilance has been deployed at the railway station and surrounding areas,” a senior official said. The unusual nature of the incident has raised concerns, prompting agencies to remain on high alert and monitor cross-border activities more closely.
