New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested nine individuals allegedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in connection with a suspected terror conspiracy targeting multiple locations across India. According to officials, the accused include residents of Delhi, Mumbai and Punjab, while some are reported to be foreign nationals. Security agencies recovered a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition during the operation. Investigators believe the group was assigned the task of carrying out attacks on critical infrastructure and security personnel, prompting authorities to launch a detailed investigation into the network’s activities and operational plans.
Sources indicated that several high-value targets were allegedly identified by the group, including airports, railway stations, power plants and other strategically important installations. Officials stated that the suspected module had been under surveillance for an extended period before the arrests were made. Investigators are now examining possible cross-border connections, financial channels and the involvement of overseas handlers who may have directed or supported the group’s activities. Security agencies are also working to determine the full extent of the network and whether additional operatives or support structures remain active in different parts of the country.
The arrests come at a time when Delhi and other major cities remain on heightened alert following intelligence warnings about potential terror threats. Authorities have increased coordination among police units, intelligence agencies and central security forces to strengthen preventive measures. Officials have reiterated that national security remains a top priority and that strict action will continue against individuals or organisations involved in activities that threaten public safety. Further details regarding the investigation and evidence collected are expected to be released by Delhi Police as the probe progresses.
