Hyderabad witnessed large-scale Milad-un-Nabi processions across several parts of the city on Wednesday, with the biggest gatherings taking place in the Old City. The main procession began after Zuhr prayers from the historic Makkah Masjid and passed through Gulzar Houz, Madina Building, Salar Jung Museum, Darul Shifa, Purani Haveli, Kotla Alijah and Bibi Bazaar before concluding near Volta Hotel. Thousands of devotees participated in the celebrations, while children carrying flags, community members, and volunteers added to the festive atmosphere. Blood donation camps and welfare activities were also organized at various locations as part of the celebrations.
Extensive security arrangements were put in place by the Hyderabad Police to ensure the smooth conduct of the religious event. Authorities enforced a strict ban on DJs and bike rallies, warning that violations would invite legal action. Police also cautioned against rash driving, triple riding, modified silencers, and minors operating vehicles during the procession. Senior officials monitored the route closely to maintain law and order and ensure the procession concluded within the designated time.
The Telangana government declared a public holiday for schools, educational institutions, and government offices to mark the occasion. Unlike the previous two years, Milad-un-Nabi processions were held on their scheduled date as they did not coincide with the Ganesh festival. In 2024 and 2025, the Markazi Milad Juloos Committee had postponed the procession due to Ganesh idol immersion events. This year, Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated on August 26, while Ganesh processions are scheduled to take place in September.
