The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued a red alert along the entire Kerala coastline after forecasting dangerous swell waves and possible Kallakkadal conditions. According to the advisory, waves between 1.0 and 1.5 metres are expected from 2:30 AM on September 26 until 2:30 AM on September 28. Authorities have warned that these sudden and powerful sea surges could pose a serious threat to coastal communities, fishermen, and visitors.

Officials said the expected swell waves may lead to coastal flooding, sea erosion, and inundation of low-lying areas. Residents living close to the shoreline have been advised to remain alert and avoid venturing into the sea during the warning period. Fishermen and tourists have also been urged to strictly follow safety instructions issued by local authorities to prevent any loss of life or property.

The warning covers several vulnerable stretches across Kerala, including parts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Disaster management agencies and district administrations are closely monitoring the situation and have asked people in coastal areas to stay updated through official advisories until weather and sea conditions return to normal.
