In a major road accident near Andugulapalli on the outskirts of Peddapalli town, over 25 passengers were injured when a Telangana State RTC bus and a lorry collided head-on on Thursday evening. The mishap occurred on Rajiv Rahadari, a busy highway where traffic has been diverted to a single lane due to ongoing repair work on the four-lane road.
The RTC bus, which was heading towards Godavarikhani from Peddapalli, collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction. The impact left several passengers injured, including the bus driver, the lorry driver, and the cleaner. According to officials, five of the injured are in critical condition and were immediately shifted to Peddapalli Government Hospital via 108 ambulance services for emergency treatment.
The collision has once again raised concerns about road safety measures and traffic regulation on highways under maintenance. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are monitoring the condition of the injured. Meanwhile, commuters are advised to take alternative routes to avoid congestion and delays on the affected stretch of Rajiv Rahadari.
