Several Indian airlines have temporarily suspended flight operations to major cities in Saudi Arabia due to the ongoing security situation in the region. Air India and Air India Express announced that flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam will remain suspended until October 20, while passengers affected by the cancellations are being offered either a full refund or the option to reschedule their travel without additional charges. The airlines said the decision has been taken as a precaution, with the safety of passengers and crew remaining their highest priority.
Air India Express stated that it is continuously monitoring developments and will review its operations based on the evolving situation. The airline assured travelers that customer support teams are assisting affected passengers with refunds and alternate travel arrangements. Travelers have also been advised to verify the latest flight status before heading to the airport and ensure their contact information is updated so they can receive timely notifications regarding any schedule changes.
Other Indian carriers have also extended similar restrictions. IndiGo has suspended flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah until October 24, while Akasa Air has paused services to Riyadh until October 24 and Jeddah until October 21. All airlines reiterated that operations will resume only after a thorough assessment of the security environment, emphasizing that passenger safety will continue to guide their decisions.
