India Launches Global Diplomatic Mission After Operation Sindoor to Counter Pakistan’s Narrative

In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, the Indian government has initiated a high-level diplomatic campaign by dispatching seven all-party delegations to 25 strategically selected nations starting May 23. This move aims to present a unified national stand against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Comprising 51 political leaders from various parties and eight former ambassadors, the delegations will visit nations that currently serve on the UN Security Council (UNSC), those poised to become members, and other globally influential countries. The outreach effort is being coordinated by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, with key figures like Shashi Tharoor, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Supriya Sule leading the charge.

The selection of these countries was deliberate and strategic. According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, 15 of these are current UNSC members, five are incoming members, and five are globally significant voices. The core goal is to preempt and counter Pakistan’s attempts to spread misinformation on the international stage, particularly during UNSC discussions where Pakistan will continue as a member for the next 17 months. BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi emphasized that the delegation will convey India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, ensuring the global community hears a clear, united Indian perspective.

This outreach comes in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on May 7, which killed 26 civilians. In retaliation, Operation Sindoor saw Indian armed forces destroy nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, neutralizing nearly 100 terrorists. The government’s diplomatic offensive is aimed not only at countering propaganda but also at solidifying international support for India’s position on cross-border terrorism, thereby reinforcing its global alliances and maintaining pressure on Pakistan.
