In a decisive action against illegal constructions, the Hyderabad Road Development Authority (HYDRAA) carried out demolition operations in Peerzadiguda municipality, located in Medchal–Malkajgiri district, on Wednesday. The crackdown focused on the Yadadri Residential Colony layout, where a private school had reportedly merged multiple plots and encroached upon a 30-foot-wide road. This road was originally part of the approved colony layout, which spans 5.20 acres and consists of 80 residential plots. The illegal extension by the school not only violated planning norms but also obstructed connectivity to the Warangal Highway.
HYDRAA officials initiated the operation following a formal complaint by the Yadadri Residential Welfare Association. During a field visit, officials verified the encroachments and acted swiftly to restore public access by removing unauthorized structures. This action comes as part of HYDRAA’s broader initiative to tackle unlawful land usage across urban and peri-urban parts of Hyderabad, ensuring that public infrastructure is not compromised by private interests.
In a related development, HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath conducted inspections in Gopanapally village of Serilingampally mandal on the same day. These visits were in response to grievances raised by the Ranganadhanagar Plot Owners Association during the Praja Vani public grievance programme. The commissioner assured residents that all complaints would be addressed with transparency and that strict action would be taken against violators to uphold planned urban development across Hyderabad’s rapidly expanding zones.
