Hyderabad Weather Alert: IMD Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorms, and Gusty Winds Till June 11

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert for the city and other parts of Telangana, forecasting rain and thunderstorms until Wednesday, June 11. According to officials, Hyderabad is expected to remain under a cloudy sky with intermittent spells of rain and gusty winds. These conditions are likely to bring down daytime temperatures, with most areas not exceeding 36 degrees Celsius. The weather department has also warned of lightning and squalls in several districts, urging residents to stay indoors during severe weather events.

The IMD’s extended forecast suggests widespread thunderstorms and light to moderate rain across all districts of Telangana over the coming days. While Hyderabad may receive isolated showers, the intensity of rainfall could increase in adjoining districts such as Rangareddy, Medchal, and Sangareddy. The department has advised citizens, particularly those traveling or commuting during Eid festivities, to remain cautious due to slippery roads and reduced visibility. Authorities have been alerted to prepare for possible disruptions caused by sudden rainfall or gusty wind conditions.

In Hyderabad, the forecast indicates a likelihood of thunderstorms continuing through Tuesday, June 10, accompanied by gusty winds reaching up to 40–50 kmph in some areas. While this brings much-needed relief from the summer heat, it also raises concerns regarding power disruptions and weakened structures during stormy periods. The IMD has advised people to follow updates regularly and take necessary precautions. The yellow alert remains in effect, and further advisories may be issued if weather conditions intensify.
