Hyderabad to Get Single Ticket for Metro, RTC Buses Soon

Hyderabad commuters may soon be able to travel on both Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC buses using a single ticket, making daily travel more convenient and seamless. The proposal was discussed during a Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Board of Directors meeting chaired by Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju. Officials have been instructed to work on a common mobility ticketing system and develop a unified mobile application that will allow passengers to access both transport services through one platform.

The state government is also considering the introduction of daily, weekly, and monthly Metro travel passes to provide affordable and flexible options for regular commuters. During the meeting, the Board reviewed the progress of Metro Phase-I takeover, land acquisition, and utility shifting works related to the upcoming Metro Phase-II expansion. These measures are aimed at improving public transport connectivity and encouraging more people to use mass transit.

To prepare for the growing Metro network and increasing passenger demand, the Chief Secretary directed officials to speed up the procurement of additional Metro coaches. If implemented, the integrated ticketing system and new travel passes are expected to simplify commuting, reduce travel hassles, and strengthen coordination between Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC, offering a more efficient public transport experience for residents across the city.
