Police Commissioner CV Anand received the award, recognizing the city’s relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking and create awareness about drug abuse. The Hyderabad-Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), under Anand’s leadership, implemented a wide range of proactive strategies including strict enforcement, community outreach, and education campaigns, especially targeting schools and colleges within the commissionerate limits.

Commissioner Anand expressed immense satisfaction at the global recognition, noting that police forces from 138 countries participated in the summit. Competing against some of the world’s most advanced narcotics enforcement teams, H-NEW’s victory showcased Hyderabad Police’s commitment to innovation, community-based strategies, and effective policing.
