The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have registered cases against Meta India Head Arun Srinivas and several Facebook and Instagram accounts over the circulation of allegedly morphed and AI-generated content targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to police, the posts were widely shared on social media during the recent protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over the alleged NEET paper leak. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin and spread of the disputed content.

The cases were filed following complaints submitted by businessman S. Aravind Reddy and Telangana BJP activist T. Saikiran Goud. The complainants alleged that they came across multiple manipulated videos and images on Instagram portraying the Prime Minister in an obscene, misleading and derogatory manner. They also claimed that several posts contained abusive language and offensive comments directed at the Prime Minister and others featured in the content. According to the complaints, the material appeared to have been digitally altered or created using artificial intelligence before being circulated online.

Police said the alleged content could contribute to the spread of misinformation, disturb public order, promote hostility among different sections of society and defame public figures. Investigators are also examining several social media posts and comments linked to the student protests that reportedly contained abusive and profane language. Officials are working to identify those responsible for creating and sharing the material. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is continuing.
