Passengers travelling through Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad will now be able to report and track their lost belongings through a newly launched real-time digital Lost & Found platform. The new system has been introduced to simplify the process of locating misplaced items by allowing passengers to submit complaints, monitor the status of their requests, and communicate directly with airport staff through a single online portal. According to airport authorities, passengers will receive continuous updates until the missing item is identified, verified, and safely returned, making the recovery process faster, more transparent, and significantly more convenient.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) Chief Executive Officer Kadhir Kadhiravan said the initiative marks Hyderabad Airport’s first real-time Lost & Found tracking and communication platform. He stated that the airport is committed to enhancing passenger experience through innovation, digital transformation, and customer-focused services. The new platform is expected to improve transparency in handling lost items while giving travellers greater confidence and peace of mind. Airport officials believe the technology-driven solution reflects their ongoing efforts to deliver smarter, more efficient, and reliable services for both domestic and international passengers.
To report a missing item, passengers need to access the Lost & Found portal and select the “Raise a Request” option. They must provide their name, email address, contact details, choose the appropriate category for the lost item, specify where and when it was misplaced, and submit a detailed description. If available, a photograph of the missing item can also be uploaded to assist airport staff in identifying it quickly. After the request is submitted, the system generates a unique reference ID, which is sent via email. This reference number enables passengers to track the progress of their request online, review case details, and securely communicate with the Lost & Found team until the matter is resolved.
