Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma emphasized the pivotal role of infrastructure development in the state’s growth during his address at the Republic Day celebrations in Hyderabad. Highlighting major projects like elevated expressways, the Regional Ring Road, and Metro Rail expansion, Varma explained how these initiatives would enhance connectivity, mobility, and sustainable urban transit. He also mentioned the Musi River Rejuvenation Project, aiming to restore the river and its surroundings, as part of the government’s commitment to sustainable development and improving the quality of life for residents.

The governor praised Telangana’s approach to federalism, citing its cordial relations with the Union government as an example of harmonious governance. He discussed the state’s memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to implement the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, which focuses on minimizing the impact of disasters. Additionally, Varma highlighted the inauguration of “Vruksha Parichaya Kshetram,” a biodiversity initiative showcasing 1,869 culturally significant plant varieties, underscoring the government’s commitment to conservation.

During the celebrations, the governor reviewed the parade, presented awards to outstanding contingents, officers, and police personnel, and reiterated the importance of transformative infrastructure projects in shaping Telangana’s modern and accessible future.
