A shocking incident occurred in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area when a salon manager was shot by two men, including the accused in a rape case filed last year. The victim, who works as a salon manager, was attacked while returning home from work on July 30. According to police, the accused, Abuzair Safi, was watching the survivor’s movements for 2-3 days and was angered by the complaint filed against him.
Safi, along with his associate Aman Shukla, approached the victim’s autorickshaw on a black motorcycle, and Safi fired at her, injuring her. The victim was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where she was found to be conscious and medically stable. Through meticulous CCTV analysis and technical surveillance, the accused were identified, and both are now in custody. A country-made pistol used in the crime was also seized.
The police have registered a case of attempted murder, and the possible connection between the rape case and the motive behind the attack is currently under investigation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Amit Goel stated that the accused were identified through social media tracking and technical surveillance. Both accused are now in custody, and further investigation is ongoing ¹.
