New Delhi: A minor dispute over a delayed food order turned deadly when a 29-year-old man was brutally assaulted and stabbed to death by the owner and staff of Ketan’s Food Court in West Delhi’s Tagore Garden early Wednesday morning. The victim, Harneet Singh Sachdeva, had gone to the eatery with two friends and became involved in an argument over a delay of more than 30 minutes in receiving his takeaway order.

According to police, the altercation escalated when the restaurant owner, Ajay Narula, and his son, Ketan, arrived with additional individuals and attacked Sachdeva using kebab skewers. CCTV footage captured the shocking incident, showing the victim being assaulted for nearly 10 minutes. Sachdeva, who lived in Chander Vihar, was the sole breadwinner of his family and is survived by his wife and mother.

Sachdeva was rushed to the hospital by his friends, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Delhi Police have arrested the eatery owner, Ajay Narula, and his son, Ketan, while further investigation into the involvement of other staff members is ongoing. The incident has raised concerns about the operation of eateries beyond permissible hours in the area, with locals alleging frequent brawls and disturbances. An FIR has been registered, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
