Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has called on opposition parties to boycott elections if they genuinely believe the electoral process is being manipulated. In a post on social media platform X, Dipke argued that continuing to participate in elections while alleging they are rigged only gives the process legitimacy. He questioned why political parties continue to contest polls if they believe votes are being stolen and elected representatives are being poached or parties are being split.

Dipke compared the electoral process to a fixed cricket match, claiming that a few victories are allowed to create the impression of a fair contest. According to him, opposition parties are given limited wins to keep them engaged in the system while convincing the public that elections remain competitive. He also said allegations of electoral manipulation should not depend on which political party or state is affected, urging all parties to take a consistent stand if they believe democratic institutions are being undermined.

The remarks come a day after Dipke demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and warned of a “Jantar Mantar 2.0” protest if his demand was not met. His comments also follow media reports claiming that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had raised objections to several Election Commission decisions over the past ten months, including issues related to electoral rolls and voter registration. However, Election Commission sources have maintained that all decisions, including those concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), were taken unanimously with the approval of all three commissioners.
