Amity Law Student Brutally Assaulted By Classmates In Lucknow, Video Sparks Outrage

A shocking case of campus violence has surfaced from Amity University in Lucknow, where a second-year law student, Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, was allegedly slapped “50 to 60 times” by his peers inside a car at the university’s parking lot. The incident, which occurred on August 26, came to light after a 101-second video of the assault went viral. The video shows female and male classmates repeatedly slapping the victim, hurling abuses, and threatening him, while some others filmed the attack. According to the FIR filed by Shikhar’s father, the assault lasted nearly 45 minutes, leaving the student traumatised and unwilling to return to college.

The complaint names five accused students — Ayush Yadav, Jahnvi Mishra, Milay Banerjee, Vivek Singh, and Aryaman Shukla. Shikhar’s father further alleged that despite his son recently undergoing ligament surgery, the attackers continued the brutal assault, recorded the video, and even circulated it within the campus. He also claimed that the attackers broke Shikhar’s phone, threatened to kill the family, and warned him against revisiting the university. The FIR details that the victim was targeted after arriving with a female friend, Soumya Singh Yadav, to attend classes.

The disturbing visuals have triggered anger and raised serious questions about campus safety and student accountability. While Amity University has not yet issued an official statement, calls for strict action against the accused students are growing louder. Police have confirmed registration of the case and further investigation is underway. The incident underscores the growing concerns around bullying, intimidation, and violence within educational institutions in India.
