In a historic Independence Day celebration, Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir became the stage for a record-setting Mega Tiranga Rally, showcasing a 1508-metre-long national flag. Organised under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, the rally highlighted the spirit of unity and patriotism, with the massive Tricolour prepared by the district administration. On Monday, hundreds of school students carried the monumental flag through the town, marking a visually striking tribute to the nation.
The rally commenced at the Entry Point–Welcome Doda Gate and concluded at the Community Hall, where streets echoed with slogans of national pride. Along the route, the sight of the enormous flag held by determined young hands stirred emotions, while patriotic chants filled the air. The event transformed the town into a vibrant celebration of India’s independence and showcased the unwavering commitment of the people of Doda to the ideals of the nation.
A large gathering of participants, including students from government and private institutions, district officers, social activists, NGOs, media representatives, and local residents, joined the rally. As they marched, waving flags, singing patriotic songs, and raising powerful slogans, the atmosphere radiated unity and pride, turning the day into a memorable chapter in the region’s Independence Day history.
