Congress Protests Against Amit Shah’s Remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Hyderabad

The Congress party organized widespread protests in Hyderabad, condemning Union Minister Amit Shah for his alleged derogatory remarks about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The demonstrations began with a symbolic march from the iconic Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund to the Hyderabad Collectorate, led by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Mahesh Goud. The event saw active participation from party workers, Ambedkar followers, and civil society groups, all calling for Shah’s immediate dismissal from the Union Cabinet.

During the protest, Congress leaders submitted memoranda to district collectors, demanding accountability for Shah’s controversial statements, which they claimed insulted the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of equality. Addressing the media, TPCC Chief Mahesh Goud emphasized, “Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to India’s social justice are unparalleled. Any attempt to diminish his image will be met with strong resistance.” He urged the central government to act decisively, citing the potential repercussions of such remarks on societal harmony.

The protest concluded peacefully, with Congress leaders reaffirming their commitment to protecting the dignity of national icons. They reiterated their demand for Amit Shah’s removal from the Cabinet, highlighting the importance of preserving Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy as a cornerstone of Indian democracy and social justice.
