Lawrence Bishnoi’s Aide Claims ‘Special Arrangements’ in Sabarmati Jail, Reveals Access to Cellphones

In a judicial confession, Hashim Baba, a close associate of alleged gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed that Bishnoi has access to two cellphones inside Sabarmati Central Jail, where he is currently lodged. The revelation was made during an ongoing investigation into the murder of gym owner Nadir Shah in Delhi. Hashim stated he received a video call from Bishnoi, who displayed the phones and asserted that “special arrangements” were made for him within the prison. Authorities in Sabarmati Jail, however, have denied these allegations, maintaining that they strictly follow the jail manual and provide no special privileges to any inmate.

The chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police Special Cell alleges that Bishnoi orchestrated Shah’s murder from jail with the help of his US-based associate, Randeep Malik. It details how Bishnoi instructed Hashim Baba to coordinate logistics and recruit individuals for the murder. This incident marks the latest in a series of claims that Bishnoi, who is accused of orchestrating multiple high-profile crimes, has managed to bypass prison regulations to continue his criminal operations. Despite police interrogations, Bishnoi refused to cooperate, prompting his formal arrest under relevant sections of law.

This is not the first time Bishnoi has faced accusations of possessing cellphones or operating from behind bars. Earlier incidents include a widely circulated video call with a Pakistani gangster and alleged interviews given from prison, raising concerns about security lapses in jails housing high-risk inmates. The authorities face mounting pressure to investigate these claims thoroughly while ensuring that prison regulations are not compromised in any way.
