Tiger Sightings Cause Panic in Telangana’s Mulugu District

Residents in Telangana’s Mulugu district are on high alert after tiger pugmarks were discovered in the Godavari river basin. Forest officials have confirmed the presence of the tiger through paw prints, with sightings reported near Venkatapuram mandal in Bodapuram and Alubaka villages. The situation escalated when a farmer in Hudkili village, Kumuram Bheem district, reported a tiger attack on a tethered calf outside his home. Additional reports placed the tiger near the Vempalli railway bridge and the Telangana-Maharashtra border railway cabin.

Authorities have responded by issuing warnings via loudspeakers, advising villagers to remain cautious and avoid entering forest areas for fishing or grazing livestock. Farmers guarding crops at night reported hearing tiger growls, heightening the anxiety in the region. Forest officials are actively tracking the tiger’s movements, urging residents to report any sightings or tracks immediately. This is not the first instance of tiger activity in Mulugu, where past encounters have left communities on edge.

As the search for the tiger continues, local residents are taking extra precautions to ensure their safety. Officials emphasize the need for vigilance while they work to mitigate the threat posed by the tiger’s movements in the area.
