China has confirmed that it has reached an agreement with India to end the military standoff in eastern Ladakh, which has lasted for over four years. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that the two sides have resolved “relevant matters” through diplomatic and military channels, and will work together to implement the agreement.
The agreement allows Indian and Chinese soldiers to resume patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) as they had before the border face-off began. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the development, citing negotiations between the two sides over several weeks.
