Mob Lynching in Gujarat: 21-Year-Old Beaten to Death Over Theft Suspicions

A 21-year-old man, Sehbaaz Khan Salim Khan Pathan, was brutally lynched by a mob in Gujarat’s Vadodara city over suspicions of theft. The incident occurred in the Warasiya locality where Pathan and his companion, 20-year-old Imran Tiliyawala, were confronted by locals. The duo was allegedly caught while attempting to flee, and Pathan was assaulted by the mob, resulting in his death.

According to the police, Pathan and Tiliyawala had arrived in the area on a stolen two-wheeler, sparking suspicions among locals. Deputy Commissioner of Police Panna Momaya stated that the men were found with tools and the stolen vehicle, which further fueled the mob’s anger. However, the police have condemned the violent response, emphasizing that citizens should not take the law into their own hands.
