An Indian Air Force helicopter made an emergency landing in a waterlogged area in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday after developing a technical snag. The helicopter was returning from Darbhanga, where it had air-dropped relief material to flood-hit areas. Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar reported that the helicopter landed in Aurai block, and all four occupants, who were IAF personnel, were rescued by locals before officials arrived.
The occupants were taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, although they appeared safe and unharmed, according to District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen. The Indian Air Force was deployed to assist in food distribution in flood-affected regions of Bihar following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s orders.
