Tirupati Devotees Unfazed by Animal Fat Row, 13 Lakh Laddus Sold in 4 Days

Despite the nationwide outrage over the adulteration in the Tirupati laddu prasadam, sales remain unaffected. From September 20, over three lakh laddus were sold every day, totaling 13 lakh in four days. The demand for the laddu prasadam at the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh has remained high despite the controversy surrounding the use of animal fat and substandard ingredients.

A private lab report confirmed the presence of animal fat in Tirupati laddus, sparking widespread criticism. However, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board has taken steps to assure devotees, conducting a purification ritual to address concerns. The board’s efforts seem to have alleviated worries, as devotees continue to purchase the laddus in large numbers.
