A railway employee, Prashant Kumar, was beaten to death by passengers on the Humsafar Express train after an 11-year-old girl alleged that he molested her in an AC coach near Lucknow railway station. The girl’s mother reported the incident to other family members, who then informed fellow passengers.

Enraged passengers attacked Kumar with available objects until the train reached Kanpur railway station, over an hour later. Kumar was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

A case has been registered against unidentified passengers based on Kumar’s family’s complaint, while the girl’s mother filed a report with the GRP in Kanpur. Police are investigating the incident.
