Delhi High Court Issues Summons on Kangana Ranaut’s Plea Against AI-Generated Obscene Content

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has approached the Delhi High Court seeking the removal of AI-generated, obscene, and fake online content allegedly created in her name. She has claimed that such content harms her reputation, violates her personality rights, and falsely attributes statements to her, causing serious damage to her public image.

During the hearing, Justice Vikas Mahajan issued summons to the concerned parties and indicated that the court would consider passing an interim order. Kangana’s legal team clarified that the petition is limited to AI-generated obscene content, fake news, and impersonation, and does not seek action against memes or satirical posts at this stage.

Kangana joins a growing list of public figures who have approached the courts over the misuse of AI and personality rights. Celebrities including Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Pawan Kalyan, Raj Shamani, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and cricketer Abhishek Sharma have also sought legal protection against unauthorized use of their identities, with several receiving interim relief from the High Court.
